An Evening of Cultivating Community
An Evening of Cultivating Community
Our recent Share a Thought gathering was a lovely reminder of how good it feels to connect with others, speak openly, and to remember Allah together.
The event celebrated the launch of our new deck. Just like "Share a Thought", the focus for the evening was building connections, understanding one another better and cultivating community.
We started the night with a "bingo" game where everyone had to find people that matched their card! Everyone got chatting, laughing and started to get to know the people around them.

This set the tone for the conversations that followed: open, thoughtful and uplifting.
We then moved into more tight-knit discussion groups and explored a range of meaningful questions:
- We spoke about our favourite things from our upbringing and the moments that shaped who we are today.
- We reflected on the idea of stability, asking which forms of stability feel realistic in our lives and which ones we might be chasing without realising.
- One of the most heartfelt discussions was about turning to Allah first, in both difficulty and blessing. How can we build that instinct, so that remembrance becomes a natural part of our everyday rhythm.

The evening left us feeling grounded, connected and grateful. May Allah allow these conversations to inspire real change in our lives and bring benefit to everyone who was present.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event, and in the meantime get your copy of share-a-thought today and start having great conversations at home, with friends, and with anyone around you!

We also discussed:
- We also asked ourselves what one issue we would fix in the Muslim community if we could, and then reflected on the deeper wisdom of why certain challenges might still remain. This opened up an honest conversation about growth, patience and relying on Allah’s timing.
- Another topic that touched people was how to protect the heart from hatred. Together we discussed small, sincere actions that help us soften our hearts and see others with more compassion.
- We ended by exploring whether company or routine is more helpful for drawing closer to Allah. The group came to a simple but beautiful realisation: both can matter, and the key is finding a balance that nurtures your heart.
